Needs Rescue Commitment by Thursday January 26th at 6pm.

“Roxie” A14777759

6month old spayed female Corgi/Chihuahua mix. Roxy was originally adopted from the Sacramento SPCA as a puppy and returned to the shelter because the owners said the dog was ripping up their carpet after being left alone for many hours. The owners stated that the dog was left alone for up to 7 hours and never crated. Roxy failed her behavior evaluation for growling at staff through her kennel but she is very social with people outside of her cage. Her previous owners wrote that she slept on the couch at night, likes riding in cars, plays fetch, likes treats and is teething. Roxy is spayed and mircochipped and ready to leave today!

“Roxy” A14979473

4 ½ yr old female American Staffy mix. Roxy was surrendered because her owners were homeless and passed her behavior evaluation as an orange. Roxy is a health fail because she needs an FHO surgery to fix her right rear leg and foster time after the surgery to recover. The SPCA is willing to assist with conducting the surgery, please contact us if you are interested in rescuing her so we can discuss. Roxy is incredibly tolerant with other dogs and would make a good “confidence-booster” dog for new dogs who are unsure of people or their surroundings. Roxy is very social with people and is a staff favorite at the shelter. Please see her videos below to see her interactions with other dogs. Roxy is microchipped and can be spayed at the shelter before leaving. Now in sick bay with kennel cough.

Buttercup” 15029022

3 yr old male Lhasa Apso mix. Buttercup was surrendered to the SPCA because his owners could no longer care for him and failed his behavior evaluation for being unpredictable and fearful during the evaluation. Buttercup was able to be taken out by the volunteer but did not want to be picked up (she leashed him up and led him outside). He was better when outside and let her pet him but is still leery of people. Buttercup is kenneled with other dogs and doing well with them and needs time to adjust and come out of his shell.

“Jada” A14772682 Available for Adoption at SPCA for 7 months looking for a home

6yr old spayed female American Staffy mix. Jada is currently available for adoption at the Sacramento SPCA but has been at the shelter for 7 months! She really needs a boost in exposure or a rescue pull as she’s being overlooked, although she’s a volunteer favorite! If your group is able to pull Jada or cross post her on your rescue website, please contact us as soon as possible. These are the notes the volunteers have to say about Jada: Jada is friendly and affectionate towards people. She calm, outgoing, and independent. She is playful and she loves to chase tennis balls. She likes to go for walks, and she walks well on a leash. Jada is best suited for a somewhat active home with experienced owners, possibly other medium sized to large dogs but no cats please! She is eligible for our Seniors for Seniors Adoption Program (anyone over 60 can adopt her for free! Anyone under 60yrs old, there is a 20% discount on her adoption).Jada’s Video:

If your group is able to pull one of these dogs, please contact Danielle Gates (dgates@sspca.org) AND Lizz Westphal (lwestphal@sspca.org) as soon as possible.

Thank you!
